I have always been both cursed and blessed with many interests. The plus is obviously that I enjoy all of these things. The curse is that there are only 24 hours in a day, and a great deal of that time is taken up with work and sleep. So far, my way of handling that is to bounce from one thing to another every few months. This time, I’d like to take a more purposeful approach. I’m going to try to plan out my time among the various pursuits. For example, to work on writing, I’m attempting to take 30 minutes to write/research every day after work before I do anything else. After that, I can concentrate on the traveler’s notebooks I’ve started making, as those are often time sensitive. I’m doing research on blogging, branding, taking advantage of social media, etc. I don’t know that I’m a painter, but I at least want to give it a shot. I’ve customized some planners for a few people. Let’s not forget the photography! I have to find time to take, edit, and print/upload the photos for others to critique and/or enjoy. There’s just not enough time! Does anyone have suggestions or plans that have worked for them? Please comment!

Yes, I’m neglecting my blog, but I can’t help it. I have been super busy with classes. I’m actually doing the work this time instead of procrastinating and squeaking by; that takes more time. Of course, that also means I should do better in my classes, and understand rather than just learning to pass a test.
I’m going for an interview tomorrow for a program that provides tutors that come to the student’s home. I’m really excited. I love to tutor and I’m pretty good at it, so it could be a perfect fit. This is to supplement my current job, but if I end up going to Kent for grad school, I might be able to transfer this job up there. I already checked that there’s an office in Akron. The pay is pretty good, so I wouldn’t have to use too many hours a week to make enough money. Of course, I’m hoping that I get enough grants etc. that I won’t NEED to work but could make some extra money.

Well, we didn't get many people (only 4), but I'm pretty sure that's because I didn't call to remind them that it was Sunday. Despite that, we had tons of fun and made over $100! We took plenty of notes about things we liked. and didn't like: how long it took to set up and tear down, etc. I think we'll be able to do really well. Our products are quality and affordable, so people are happy to buy.

I've uploaded images of some of my jewelry pieces. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Angie, Annie and I met yesterday to work out more details for our new business. We've even given ourselves job titles.
Monica: Marketing Director
Angie: Artistic Director
Annie: Financial Director
Of course, we're also the Designers. We devided up many of the responsibilities, discussed who will have which responsibilities, etc. I'll be the one booking our parties, contacting stores, shows, etc., among other things. This is really moving along!. Once we get our site going, I will be sure to post a link.

I mentioned that two of my friends and I are working toward doing some craft shows next year. We're doing jewelry, photography, drawings, candles, and a few other crafty items. My main contributions are jewelry and photography. I'm really excited about making jewelry. I've even taken a class to learn more techniques. It's going really well. I just made 2 rings today with my new jewelry hammers, and I wire wrapped a cabachon (I'm hoping to make a ring out of it). My next gold is making settings and saudering. Can't wait!

My friends Angie, Annie, and I are really taking the craft busines by storm. We've decided to really make a concentrated effort to make things for craft/art shows and to sell on our collective site under TwiZted Sisters Ink Inc. We each have our own website, and we'll start one soon for TS, so keep your eyes open! We're all extremely excited about what's happening. We've agreed to meet each week, we've talked about prices, a catalogue, etc. Whoo-hoo!

I mentioned already that my friends and I were gearing up to do some craft shows next year. Well, I started working on making more jewelry the other day, and one of my co-workers bought two pairs of earrings. I have to say I was quite pleased. It shows that there's definitely a market for my things. I hope to start selling some on this site soon, too. I've started making prices lists, and have signed up for a class at a local bead shop. I have plans to take another class there, too. Both of them will help me to make more of my own items. Of course, once I know more what I'm doing, I will get supplies on eBay (why you ever buy anything anywhere else!!).

I've started posting things to sell in my store, so start spending! I'll be adding a little at time, so keep checking.

Today is such a long day. I signed up to work 12 hours. I need the money because I missed quite a few days while I didn't have a car. I also worked 12 hours on Thursday and will do the same Monday. I might be a little crazy by the end of Monday, but my next paycheck will be very nice.
The problem is that 12 hours is a LONG time. My job is answering questions on a national hotline, but we don't have calls every minute. I brought things to do between calls, but you need breaks even when you're doing something you like. Maybe I should bring more variety for the next 12 hour shift.
