I’ve had this blog for a while, but I’m not very consistent about frequency or content. That’s been ok, but I’m thinking of getting more serious about this. I’d like to be able to get to the point where I only need a part time job then no job. To that end, I’m doing some research on this idea. I need to figure out my niche. I will also most likely move my blog to another host. This one is fine for a personal blog, but I don’t think it offers as much as some others when it comes to monetizing. We’ll see. If any of you have suggestions, I WELCOME them!

One of my friends has suggested that several of us start a writing journal. That came at the heels of a renewed resolution (unrelated to the New Year, thank you) to write every day. I’m going to start with just 15 minutes a day and work my way up. For the writing journal, we’re to go from the prompt of the person who has the journal before us. (Heather seems to think a prompt is half a story.) We write what we want from the prompt, plus any thing else that tickles our fancy, then write a prompt for the next person. We’ll try not to keep the journal longer than a week at a time. The only possible glitch is that we’re handwriting everything, and some of us have less-than-beautiful/legible penmanship. We’ll see how it all goes. I’ve written my first entry, so now I need to find a prompt and pass it to the next person. Perhaps doing it by comp would be easier? We don’t always get to see each other every week. Maybe that’ll be a good excuse to get together more often. I do miss them, but don’t tell!

I'm a little bumbed about the whole thing, but he just said they were going to stick with 3 singers for now. I'm disappointed, but my mom did point out that now I know I can do it. I'll have to start looking for opportunities again. What's frustrating is that most of the ads I see are looking for rock singers, which I definitely am not. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
I'm trying to work on writing my books again. I was inspired by Stephenie Meyer. I just finished reading Twilight, and was suprised that it came from a dream she had. That's where my two stories have originated as well. On her site, she even includes how she did some of her research and what she did to get published. My desire to complete and submit both stories is renewed.

My friend Angie and I hung out today and had a great idea. All three of us (Angie, Annie, and I) started an art group for the three of us called Twizted Sisters. The purpose is for us to encourage each other to pursue and improve our various artistic interests. It can be painting, drawing, crafts, photography, writing, etc. Angie and I decided that we need to prepare this year to enter some art shows next year. We'd like to go to the ones that interest us this year to see for sure. That would also give us an opportunity to check out the displays, the type/quality of art, and help us decide what to do. Then throughout the year, we can prepare items, displays, save to pay for booths, etc. While we each do some different things, we all do photography, so that might be a good one to concentrate on for now. If we go to other places, we can do our other arts. I think it'll be fun. We may not make tons of money, but even if we make a little, it'll be worth it. I've even found some shows that have contests with cash prizes. Who knows?

I'm still working out the kinks here, but things look promising. There are some things I have figured out how to change and others I haven't, but I think some of it is just trial and error. I have a comment box up, but it'll be unavailable till I've been here at least a week.
In other news, I got a CAR!! It only took 2 months, but a friend led me to it (I mean, besides God, obviously). It's a bit of a pimp-mobile, but what can ya do?

I'm really liking this new site so far. I have seperate pages for my photography, writing, blog, etc. People can look at whatever they want. I would like to have a little more control over the appearance, but you get what you pay for (it's free). I'll still keep MySpace at least for now.

I decided to forgoe MySpace (well, not totally), and start my own site altogether. I'm not sure how this will all look in the end, but I'm hoping I can put my blogging, art, writing, crafts, etc. all in one place. So far, it's working out pretty well.
